Economy/Job Market

The city boasts a strong retail and service sector. The Moreno Valley Mall offers more than 100 stores, specialty shops and restaurants. The area surrounding the mall has seen extensive development over the past several years including a wide variety of home furnishing outlets to serve the needs of the first-time homebuyer.

While numerous economic development projects are being planned for the city, none holds the potential as the former March Field Air Force Base. Constructed in 1918, the former base encompasses more than 7,000 acres. In 1996, the base was realigned as an Air Reserve Base and is today poised for great economic growth involving public and private development.
